About Us
All of us here are devoted to calling our reader’s attention to news that may well be underreported. We strive to provide original prose, rather than cutting and pasting from elsewhere. Ideally, our goal is to bring together other information sources along with our articles to deepen the appreciation of our readers of what is behind a story. Although it leads sometimes to the danger of “dead links” we always link over to other news stories that are sources for our own news leads.
Right now, we are volunteers, supporting ourselves elsewhere and writing here as a labour of love. Despite this, we hope to have enough money coming in to pay ourselves and some new writers a decent wage. Whatever our great hopes for the future, that is where we are at now. Although we are a news site, we freely admit to an assortment of political interests and biases, about which we are frank with our readership.
We offer films and documentaries as well as music. In addition to browsing our categories in our side bar, if you type the word VIDEO in the search box, it will bring up many full length documentaries, films and music videos. Our content includes a lot of items designed to be as interesting in six months as they are today. All of our foreign films and documentaries have subtitles.
Our currently active staff writers are the following
Elias Bassevi – World News
Max Koenigsberg – US News
Ilan Zuta – Israeli and Jewish News
Rudi Stettner- General News
Paul Kovacs – Opinion
Szelma Braun General Editor
Rudi Stettner is our general editor. In practice, it is he who flags typos and factual errors, correcting both as quickly as possible. He can be contacted at thewinterriders@gmail.com. If you have comments addressed to a particular author, he will forward such comments to the writer in question. We welcome feedback and constructive criticism from our readers.
