In observance of Passover, we will not be posting any articles on the last two days of Pesach, which start tonight,Thursday night, marked by candle lighting at 7:31PM, 18 minutes before sunset. We expect to resume posting on Saturday night after nightfall.

Chabad.org has a section of their site where you can look up the proper time for your city. You can also find to articles about the holiday and other topics to download, print and read during the first part of Passover, which lasts two days outside of Israel and consists of one day each at the beginning and end of Passover in Israel. Aish.com is also an excellent site for resources to enhance enjoyment of the holiday.

Chabad.org has an article about the last two days of Passover. Much attention is paid to the Passover seders on the first days of Passover. On the seventh day of Passover, the nation of Israel passed through the Red Sea, with all of the miracles that took place at this defining event. Some Jews have the custom of  staying up all night on the seventh night of Passover to commemorate the splitting of the Red Sea. Knowing what took place on that day opens the possibility of remembering the events of the Exodus in some meaningful way.

An article on Aish.com deals with the increase of Jew-hatred in Great Britain. The toxic mix of leftist, anti Israel chic and radical Islam transplanted to Great Britain has created a toxic atmosphere in the UK. One wonders what could happen if immigration patterns in the US created a demographic picture comparable to that of Great Britain

Tonight, the seventh night is when the people of Israel crossed the Reed Sea, which split in front of them, and closed upon the Egyptians who were in hot pursuit. It was by no means certain that this miracle would occur at the time. (No one had seen the movie) So crossing the Reed Sea was really a great act of faith.

May this holiday of Pesach be the last holiday on our calendar observed in exile, for our good and that of a suffering world.
