The legal process that was used in Iraq to dispossess and expel its once large Jewish population closely resembled the legal measures used to drive the Jews from Germany in the 1930’s. The departure of Iraq’s Jews was a violent and traumatic end to a Jewish presence in Iraq that spanned millenia. In the following video, Emile Cohen, an Iraqi Jewish journalist, discusses the long history of Iraqi Jews, and the Iraqi Jewish naqba, in which they were forced to flee.
