Isis troops are losing their nerve when confronted by female Kurdish soldiers. The London Daily Mail quotes Ed Royce, who chairs the US House International Relations Committee as follows.
“These Isil soldiers apparently believed that if they were killed in battle, they went to paradise as long as they were killed by a man,” he told The New York Post, citing reporters of Kurdish female fighters laughing as they repelled attacks by the extremist group.
“And these female soldiers were communicating their satisfaction with the fact that they had taken the fight to ISIL and had stopped the advance, turned back the advance – slayed a number of these fighters, who would then run away.”
How many Christians, Yazidis and other minorities who are in danger from ISIS might be saved by simply having personal firearms? All too often, a well known disparity of strength invites aggression. All the western propaganda in the world will not liberate women in Muslim countries nearly as well as enabling women to defend themselves. If the west will give the Kurds enough arms to defend themselves, the spell of fright cast by ISIS might be broken, exposing them as the cowardly paper tigers that they really are.
