Part of the discussion of whether to support President Obama or Mitt Romney involves a critical look at Eric Holder, his Attorney General, Eric Holder. Eric Holder has run the most politicised Justice Department in memory. Despite numerous attempts to find the truth behind Fast and Furious, Holder has adamantly refused to provide information about the scandal, in which firearms were knowingly provided to drug gangs in Mexico, and eventually used against law enforcement.
Holder has fought voter ID laws as unconstitutional, and refused to prosecute cases of intimidation of white voters in Philadelphia. He has adamantly refused to prosecute racially motivated attacks against white people.
It speaks volumes about President Obama that he did not fire Eric Holder early on in his presidency. That Holder could expect to survive into Obama’s second term is a de facto statement by President Obama that he finds nothing objectionable in Eric Holder’s approach to law enforcement. A vote for President Obama is, effectively a vote for Eric Holder. Is this what we want for another four years?
