President Obama refused repeated requests for a straight answer on whether American government representatives were denied assistance despite repeated requests for help when they were under fire. It now has come to light that the White House had access not only to e mails, but to real time videos of the Benghazi attacks as well. In an echo of Watergate back in the 1970′s US Senators, having found out about video footage that was available to the White House of the Benghazi attacks, have demanded that those videos be declassified.
The full truth of the Benghazi attacks will come to light. The only interest that would be served in covering up refusals of assistance to consular and intelligence officials under attack in Benghazi would be those of the Obama reelection campaign. The American people are entitled to that information before election day on November 6.
If President Obama fails to be forthcoming with the information he has about Benghazi, it will make a mockery of his pledges to run a “transparent” andministration. Benghazi has, iun the minds of a growing number of Americans become a scandal as well as a fiasco. It is an “October surprise” that the Obama administration has, in its breathtaking incompetence inflicted upon itself. Blinded by its own ideology, and deaf to the concerns of Americans stationed abroad, the Obama administration seems increasingly aloof to the concerns of millions of Americans about our safety and standing abroad.
One thing that the Obama adminsitration can not cover up is the miserable failure of its attempts to buy the love of our enemies with abject apologies. Whatever they succeed in covering up, this critical failure will be apparent to all.
