Rebetika is a genre of urban Greek folk music that derives its character from a variety of sources across the spectrum of Greek music, as well as Turkish, Ladino and Balkan influences. It is considered to be socially comparable to the American blues, in that it is the music of struggling classes. Following is a documentary about this genre of music.
