History of the Stasi, the East German Secret Police [Video]

Emblem of the Stasi

As part of our celebration of June 17, 1953,  we are presenting a  history of the Stasi, a documentary detailing the history of East Germany’s Staatssicherheitsdienst, the East German secret police. When the East Germans revolted against communism in June of 1953, they were brutally repressed, as were the Hungarians in 1956 and the Czechs and Slovaks in 1968.

In 1989, the Berlin Wall ultimately fell, as did communism all through Europe. Even as we face new struggles today against radical Islam, acts of brave resistance against communism still capture the hearts of people around the world who share the values and desires of people living under oppressive governments.

The long nightmare of communism should never be forgotten. It is for this reason that we here at Globe Tribune.Info are marking this German holiday as a time of remembrance. We should never forget that Marxism, the philosophy that denied the existence of G-d, ultimately denied life to millions of people created in G-d’s image.
