While people debate in Washington about how to deal with bullying, a 16 year old Australian boy who was accustomed to being easy pickings paid back his 12 year old assailant. Yes, there are 16 year olds who get picked on by smaller, younger kids. The 12 year old was accustomed to getting respect by picking on a larger, older child who is not a fighter.
There is only one problem with the nameless 12 year old’s calculations. This time, his would be victim pulled some very professional looking moves on his wiry, smaller attacker who had been circling and jabbing at him with quick punches to the face and body. At the end of the video, the would be assailant is seen limping away with a pained expression on his face.
Now, there is a Casey the Punisher Facebook page dedicated to Casey’s 44 seconds of fame. The kid even has an article in the Sidney Morning Herald, which is serious business in Australia.
The most interesting thing about the video is that the would be victim does not follow up on his well executed body slam, but walks away with a weary expression on his face. It is clear that the older boy does not like dishing out a beating, but did so because he had to. The school administration, by the way, gave the 12 year old bully a 21 day suspension for clearly starting the fight, and a four day suspension to the 16 year old for raising his hads and doing what he had to do. The school is afraid that the viral popularity of the video will create copycat incidents.Now would that be such a terrible thing?
